Kanchenjunga trekking was available for trekking only in 1988, is an untouched and less travelled destination. The trek provides ample landscapes, unique cultures of the remote villages and brilliant mountain lookouts of the Everest, Lhotse, Manaslu and Kanchenjunga, which are the world’s five highest peaks. The trek is a long lasting journey to remember. The trek begins from Suketar, Taplejung passing through exciting trails in the tropical lowlands to the upper alpine terrains along with flowing glaciers and dense rhododendron forests and green valleys. Kanchenjuna Consevation Area is a major attraction of the region covering an area of 2035 sq. km and a habitat to several rare wild species like the snow leopard, Himalayan black bear, musk deer, red panda and many species of birds like the Impheyan, pheasant, red-billed blue mangpie, drongo and many more. Kanchenjunga consists of hidden and undiscovered areas making the trip very exciting and a paradise for adventure seekers in the world’s third highest mountain. The trek requires a great amount of effort but it is rewarded with magnificence of the nature in the Himalayas.
